CLIENT: FERNER GALLERIES

In 2005, commissioned by Ferner Galleries, I worked collaboratively with painter Ian Scott to design this book featuring his most well known body of work: Lattices.

Ian Scott (1945 - 2013) was a significant and celebrated New Zealand painter who worked as a full-time artist from the 1960s until his death in 2013. Ian painted squares of colour which I was able to measure accurately and reproduce in the design as bleed off solid blocks, and woven through sub-headings of text. Four colour black and white photographs of Ian and family feature at the start and end, standing apart, in their own right from the colourful Lattice paintings.
