The Auckland Gallery Guide

CLIENT: Johnstone Associates

The Auckland Gallery Guide was a successful 10 year publication that ran from 1999 – 2009. Conceived by Christopher Johnstone of Johnstone Associates, I was contracted to design the guide which we updated every two months. As it grew in popularity, more space was required as more Galleries subscribed. The examples here show the evolution from an A5 4-fold concertina fold to a DLE 6-fold, allowing for this increase in content.

I particularly enjoyed this project, both for the fun in making the user friendly map, which was initially drawn in ink and then later vectorised, to the distribution to subscribed Gallery’s around town who made these freely available for art lovers and visitors to Auckland.
